Who We Are

‘H. Malone Plumbing and Heating’ was established in 1926 by Henry Malone who left his job at the Tyne shipyards to set up his own business from his home in Gosforth, Newcastle Upon Tyne. Over the years Henry gained an excellent reputation across the region for his high-quality workmanship and professionalism. As well as working for private clients, he began contracting for local authorities and businesses, and his increased workload gave him the opportunity to employ his four sons.

H. Malone & Sons was born and the business continued to grow, becoming a limited company in 1964 and moving to a new combined office and workshop building on Gosforth Industrial Estate where we remain to this day.

Our 2022 acquisition of McNally & Thompson Electrical Contractors has strengthened our ability to deliver a combined mechanical & electrical package for our clients. McNally & Thompson are now fully integrated into the H. Malone family business, and we continue to deliver a first-class M&E service across multiple sectors of the building services industry as H. Malone Mechanical & Electrical Services.

We are now a fifth generation family owned and family run business. Throughout the many challenges we have faced over the last 100 years we have grown and developed while maintaining our focus on family values and our community, continually striving to offer sustainable employment opportunities to our local people.

With a turnover of £37.5 Million and over 180 directly employed staff, H. Malone & Sons Ltd is firmly established as a leading mechanical & electrical services contractor throughout the North East of England and beyond.
